Reliability and Quality Management System
Precilab constantly performs quality checks for every single process from sample preparation and spike recoveries to purchasing control to ensure all analytical data reported is reliable and a true representation of the customer’s chemical sample or product.
For typical trace element or anion analysis, we perform the following quality checks:
- For every sample type needing trace element analysis which is pretreated by a sub boiling evaporation method, at least one of the replicates are spiked with a known quantity of standard material to ensure that proper recovery is achieved.
- For every sample set needing trace element analysis which is pretreated by dilute and shoot method, at least one of the samples is spiked with a known quantity of standard material to ensure that proper recovery is obtained.
- For every sample type needing anion or cation analysis, at least one of the replicates is spiked with a known quantity of standard material to ensure that proper recovery is acquired.
- Check standards are analyzed routinely throughout the day to ensure that instrument calibration is maintained.
Routine audits occur for both the quality management system and the technical operation with any requirement corrective actions implemented in a timely manner.
Precilab’s Quality Management System reflects the requirements of ISO 17025, General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. ISO 17025 incorporates all the relevant requirements of ISO 9001 Quality Systems–Model for Quality Assurance in Design, Development, Production, Installation, and Servicing. ISO 17025 has additional technical requirements to ensure that the laboratory is capable of providing the customers with consistent and reliable analytical data and services.
